Smith Tano Dental Group

After nearly 30 years, I needed to find a new dentist. I was a bit nervous, but I have been very pleased with the team at Smith and Tano. Everyone I encountered welcomed me to the practice, and the care I received was excellent.

I have been a patient of Dr. Smith for over 30 years and I've stayed with this dental group because they are professional , friendly and very clean. I just went in for my cleaning few days ago, Andrea, my hygenist was thorogh and efficient. She is engaging and timely. She makes you feel very comfortable while she is cleaning your teeth. Dr. Smith is professional, experieced and friendly. I gave them 5 stars because they deserve it.

Always a positive experience at Smith Tano dental office. I have a bit of a dental phobia so this is from a good source. Lovely (new to Me ) hygienist today. Had positive feedback on my teeth. I’m old! Plus a special hello from Dr and Mrs Smith. Plus parking is easy. Great practice highly recommend.

Dr. Smith did a remarkable job on a cracked, and very old tooth that had two silver fillings approximately 40 plus years old. He did it with great care and patience. The crown I received was fabulous. All of this in one and a half hours without pain. He is a master at dentistry, very approachable, and I highly recommend him.

The doctor is very kind and provides excellent care. However, my experience with the front desk staff for my sutures removal has been quite disappointing due to their unprofessional and discourteous behavior. I was originally scheduled for a two-week follow-up appointment for suture removal after my tooth extraction. However, when I arrived at the office at 7:00, I was informed by a new staff member that my appointment was not scheduled until next month. This was both surprising and concerning. Leaving sutures in place for nearly two months is not appropriate and raises serious concerns about patient care and communication. I would appreciate better coordination and professionalism from the front desk staff to ensure that patients receive timely and accurate information regarding their appointments.

I strongly recommend Smth-Tano Dental in Swampscott. All the staff are friendly and accommodating. The dental hygenists and dental techs are knowledgeable and well trained. Most especially, the dentists are top notch--all three have DDS degrees from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. I have been seen by Dr.s Tano and Panjwany. Both have been excellent, thoughtful, and thorough. A year Dr. Tano took great pains to ensure a crown over a new dental implant was seated perfectly. I've forgotten it wasn't original to my mouth. I would like to praise Dr. Panjwany who recently replaced an old silver filling and built a new crown for a molar. Because of a decades ago dental trauma, I get panicky when there is drilling. He and dental tech, Mavis, (I apologize for not knowing her last name) were calm and patient with my anxiety through the entire procedure. Dr. Panjwany paused whenever he noticed my anxiety was increasing and continually checked with me. He let me know how much longer the drilling was going to be and explained what was happening when he was using still-noisy-but-non-drilling apparatus. His calm, pleasant, and knowledgeable demeanor made all the difference for me. One final note: there are quite a few dentists in Swampscott, most of them near the beaches. Smith-Tano is in a purpose-built building just past the gas station at the end of Fisherman's Beach. There's parking. And an elevator for those who need it.

Tatiana and Dr.Tano are wonderful. The front staff are very welcoming too. I was having some pain and discomfort in one tooth-and had some work done by Dr. Tano- and all is good! Tatiana does my cleaning - and she also does a great job. Thank you for all that you do.
