Timber Dental

Update: Its been 3 weeks, still no contact from Timber Dental. I called my insurance and there's been no claim submitted by Timber Dental. I called to follow up with Timber Dental during business hours, no one picks up the phone. That was the strangest dental experience I’ve ever had. I walked into my first appointment to a chaotic waiting room. Having had already submitted my insurance earlier in the week, I learned at check in no one had verified it. So I waited and then was taken back. I asked the hygienist if my insurance has been verified so I don’t get hit with a bill. She assured me “a green check came on the screen so everything is fine.” I sat for over an hour for the longest X-rays and exam ever. The place was loud and cramped and all I could hear was the next hygienist over yelling with his patient the entire time, sometimes making it impossible to hear my hygienist when she was speaking to me. Now 2 hours in from the start of my appointment, I was told there’s no longer time for a cleaning and I’d have to come back. The entire purpose was a cleaning, not a long exam. As I check out and ask about making an appointment for a cleaning, the front desk person let me know “you may or may not be receiving an $700 bill. We’ll be in touch with you.” It’s been a week and I’ve heard nothing from Timber. So… my teeth still aren’t cleaned and now I may owe $700. I can’t make this stuff up. Save your time and money and go anywhere else. This place is too chaotic.

The office told me it was legally required to get an X-ray and they wouldn’t do a basic cleaning without it. Review of the Oregon Board of Dentistry and American Dental Association, there is no legal requirement or set timeline for when to get X-rays and the decision should be based on the patient’s dental health. I’m an internal medicine physician who understands that reimbursement from insurance is determined by what we order and level of care provided. My guess is that they get higher reimbursement when an xray is performed. I’d prefer to support a dentist who is patient centered and performs X-rays when clinically necessary. Getting an imaging study prior to examining a patient is not good practice.

The office was very clean and felt modern inside + friendly staff. The front desk was able to book me the morning of my visit and the dentists were able to get me out the door quickly. Took an hour and a half. Parking could become a challenge, but I was able to find a spot in the back.

I am so grateful to the team at the MLK location for being able to get me in for a cleaning and then a crown fitting before my flight out of town!! Due to losing my insurance at the end of the month, they made sure they could get me in while I was in town. The multiple locations help too!!

I love Timber Dental. MLK location is awesome! Great team of people. Caring and passionate about their patients and making sure the best experience is accomplished.

I've been seeing Dr. Garcia for a year, and he's great! Very personable, explains issues and treatments in detail and I always feel he cares about my dental health. Also, Jamie, in the East Burnside office, is a great hygienist. She's focused on my health and provides a great deep cleaning experience!

I was visiting my daughter in Portland over the weekend and quickly developed an infection within a root canal. Timber dental kindly took me the same day I called. The Doctor acted fast and confidently. I felt safe even though I was in panic mode. I would recommend Timber 👌 you are in good hands.

First time coming here, it was easy to set up my appointment and do all the paper work / insurance information ahead of time. I was taken back quickly, Oliva(?) I think that was her name? Explained everything well and was very personable. The Dr was great too and helped me better understand some jaw issues I’ve been having.

Great experience. Every single person on staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful. My teeth feel great after the cleaning, and I left confident in my care plan moving forward. Also I appreciated the bright atmosphere and clean decor in the clinic.

Timber dental is the best dental experiences I've ever had. Dr. Dar is incredibly kind and helpful and my hygienist Jamie as well as Raina were so nice and helpful. I am so thankful we have this office in Portland! Some things I really like about the office are that it's really clean, they offer payment plans, and the services are usually really fast. I have some dental anxiety and they have made me feel really safe and cared for. Couldn't recommend this office more!
